What is MTU ?

Monthly Tracked Users (MTU) is a method used by Read/See CDP to calculate your bill based on the number of visitors who perform qualified events with your Read/See account each month.

How to calculate MTU in Read/See?

MTU does not refer to individual profiles, but rather to visitors who are tracked when they perform qualified events in your Read/See project. Each visitor is counted only once per month, even if they perform multiple actions on multiple devices. Read/See defines unique events from visitors with distinctIDs.

As mentioned before, MTU is not about individual profiles, meaning the numbers in your Read/See project will not match with your User Profiles in Read/See. You will only be charged for the total number of MTUs across all projects. Therefore, if a user performs actions in multiple projects, they will only be counted once per project.

The calculation of MTU in Read/See excludes anonymous visitors, this means anonymous users visiting your project are excluded in the MTU calculation.

How to view MTU usage?

To view detailed usage of your MTU, click on Usage & Billing in your User Profile below:

In this section, you can view:

• Current subscription
• Total cost per month
• MTU usage & limit
• MTU details

In the Monthly Tracked Users (MTU) section, you will see the number of visitors that perform actions in your project, including a line chart of your data. Additionally, you have the ability to use our period and channel filters to meet your needs.

In the image above, you can see the total number of all your MTUs based on the channels that you use.

Why using Monthly Tracked Users (MTU)?

As mentioned above, MTU is only counted once per month, even if visitors perform multiple actions on various devices. This is an interesting point for you, as you will only pay once per user every month.

In advance, the benefits of MTU are:

• MTU can be applied to multiple channels, and you only pay for users who are engaged with the channel.
• MTU is predictable, as you know how many users you have and can expect a consistent cost every month due to the number of tracked users.
• MTU is scalable and can be applied to smaller and larger companies.
