To enhance your data experience, it's important to learn the basics of showcasing and personalizing it.
To start, let's define what we mean by Insight. It's a tool that helps you understand how your customers interact with your data. By gaining insight into these interactions, you can better process and make sense of your data.
With Read/See, you can create your own insights using your connected data and tailor it to fit your specific needs. Get ready!
1. Give your insight a name
Enter the title and description of your insight. To ensure everyone is on the same page, take a moment to clearly label your insight by entering a descriptive title and explanation. Go ahead and get as detailed as you can, so everyone knows exactly what kind of insight you're putting together.
To make the most out of your insight, here's what you need to do:
- Choose an existing segment that is connected to your account.
- Decide whether you want to display the Total Count or just Unique data.
- Total Count refers to the overall number of instances in which a particular item appears in your data set.
- Unique data, on the other hand, represents the number of distinct or non-repeated occurrences of a particular item in your data.
By carefully selecting your segment and determining whether to display Total Count or Unique data, you'll be able to get a clearer picture of your insights and make informed decisions based on your data.
2. Filter your insight
To get even more granular with your insights, try using filters. Here's how:
- Add a segment as a filter to further refine the data you're looking at.
- You can add properties and/or events as filters.
- Properties refer to specific characteristics or attributes of an item in your data set.
- Events represent actions taken by customers or users within your data.
You can add multiple filters to get a comprehensive view of your data and gain a deeper understanding of your insights. By combining different segments, you'll be able to drill down into your data and uncover valuable insights.
3. Personalize your insight
To further personalize your insights, you have the option to set the Time Range and Compare settings, as well as choose a visual representation for your data.
- Time Range:
- Last 7 Days: Shows data from the past 7 days.

- Previous Week: Compares the current data to the data from the previous week.
- Previous Month: Compares the current data to the data from the previous month.
